This year's community read is The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. This story follows a middle-aged man who returns as an adult to his hometown to attend a funeral and, while there, remembers a fantastical series of events from his childhood. Part reality, part fantasy, this haunting story takes us deep into a young boy’s inner world, and brings us to reflect on our own understanding of reality, memory, childhood, and what it means to be human.
All events are free and on Zoom. Click the image below for the schedule. Click on the orange "Search For A Book" button on the right side of this page to look for books. Once you find one, click on the gray "Online Book Borrow Request" button. You can fill out the form to request the book. Don't know what to read? Try the "surprise me" option!
Books can be picked up any day except for Tuesday. Email Ms. Arkans with questions or to make other pick-up arrangements. Did you read anything good this summer? I hope so.
