Here's what you had to say about the Hunger Games movie:
It did a really good job. I would not add or change anything.
I liked the way they changed how Katniss got the Mockingjay pin. It gave her a deeper connection with her sister Prim. However, I don't like that they left out the bit where the mutts ad the eyes of the dead tributes. I feel like that made it more intense for Katniss. Overall, they did an amazing job.
They changed a lot of the things from the book like how Peeta just falls asleep instead of Katniss giving him a medicine that puts him to sleep. The dress she wears when she enters the arena is much different.
I thought it was really good but they didn't explain the relationship between Gale and Katniss very well and you weren't supposed to know Gale liked her until Catching Fire.
I thought the movie did an excellent job of representing the book. Everything I wanted to see onscreen was there and the things they cut out were so minor I barely noticed them. The only thing I would have changed would have been adding Madge in because there's a little back story needed for Catching Fire but all in all it was fantastic.
They left out important parts such as the Avox, the mockingjay pin importance, etc. I would've added these crucial things back into the movie!
It was really good I mean there were things missing and things added but the thing I missed the most/wanted in the movie and didn't get was the muttations in the end weren't like the tributes and it wasn't as scary.
I wished they had done a better job with the bread scene with Peeta and Katniss. I also wish the camera work was better in the movie. At some points it seemed the camera was moving too quickly.
I think they did a really good job condensing the book into the needed amount of time. Though it was a long movie I wish it was a little longer and they could have developed the Peeta and Katniss and Gale and Katniss relationships better and I hope they elaborate more in future movies in the franchise.
The movie represented the book very well but I wish they had gone into more detail and they should have had the character Madge give the Mockingjay pin to Katniss.
I think that they did not add major decision changing parts like Katniss relationship with Rue and Haymitch not giving her water.
I honestly think the directors and actors did a fantastic job. The only thing they movie was really missing was Madge, and she was mostly unnecessary anyway.
It was like the book. They left out a few small parts but no one really noticed. I would have made it a little bit longer.
Although not even a decent plot line in the first place it was misrepresented in cinema. As expected Hollywood dramatizes and exaggerates the "action".
I think the movie was really good. I like the bit they added with the game maker at the end. I would have added the bit where the mayor's daughter gave Katniss the pin.
For the most part the movie represented the book. But I would change how Katniss gets the pin so the mayor's daughter gives it to her. I would change it so the dogs represent the tributes that already died.
I thought the movie was a very good representation of the book. If I could have added/changed the movie in any way I would have gone into more depth on her father's death. If I had not read the book I would have been confused.
The Hunger Games books were immensely popular due to the classic tale of the hero who overcomes many trials and tribulations and in the end gets together with the unlikely love interest. The fast pace and intriguing plot, complete with a writing style that kept readers turning pages was what enveloped today's readers. Movies usually feature intense, fast paced action, and this one did deliver to those standards. But what translated so well into hype and a great book series did not exceed general expectations in terms of a movie. This only means that the movie stayed very true to the book, which would be a point of commendment in my eyes. That is all.
The Hunger Games movie did represent the books well because it was only a little over two hours and got the overall mood down. I would've changed a few points like how Katniss got her pin (not in the Hub, from Madge) and the mutts having the dead tributes eyes. Also I would've liked the movie to better portray the relationship between the style team. Also they didn't mention avoxes!
Was similar to the book and represented it well. I would have included drugging Peeta, and made the Cornucopia look different, but it was well made.
