OverDrive Summer Read is an annual program for schools in the US and Canada designed to encourage your students to keep reading all year long. This year’s 10-week program, running June 6 – August 15, is our longest ever. We’re also offering more titles than ever before. Thirty free and simultaneous use juvenile and young adult ebooks (and select audiobook and Read-Along options) will be available to students in participating schools. These titles will be prominently displayed in Sora so it’s easy for students to find their next book and chill out and read.
Click the image above to see the free book titles! Go to the ebooks tab under "BOOKS" above for more instructions for using OverDrive with the Sora app. Library books are due Monday June 10th.
There is a new citation tool that is great for making one or two quick citations. If you don't need to save citations in Noodletools or make notecards, try ZoteroBib. You can even paste a URL into the search box and ZoteroBib will create a citation for you!
(As with all citation generators, there can sometimes be errors. Make sure you check the citation carefully and compare with the correct format. More information available on the "Make Citations" page above under the Research tab.) We've got some new books in the library. Stop by and check one out! Nicola Yoon's bestseller The Sun Is Also A Star was made into a movie and is coming out this May! How does it look? There's still time to read it before the movie comes out . . . John Green is back with a new Crash Course series - Navigating Digital Information. Want to learn more about finding the best websites and avoiding fake news? Take a look. The next videos in the series can be found by clicking on the research tab above - look for Crash Course in the drop down menu. How would you rate these websites? How credible are they? Remember to look for author, organization validity, sources, dates, etc.
Don't forget about Sideways Research! |
